John Elefante's "Corridors" is superb!

"A few weeks ago, at the advice of one of my sisters, I purchased John Elefante's "Defying Gravity" and totally fell in love with it. I found out that John Elefante had 2 other prior solo CDs so I quickly purchased "Corridors". I immediately fell in love with "Corridors" as well. John Elefante and his brother, Dino, are extraordinarily gifted songwriters. Their lyrics are heart-felt, worshipful and inspirational. Their incredible melodies are (for lack of a better word) totally addictive. I put their songwriting ability on the same level as Lennon and McCartney (and as an avid Beatles fan, I never thought I would ever put anyone else's music on that level). The songs on "Corridors" are powerful, beautiful, and anointed, full of insight, passion and energy. And I can not say enough about John Elefante's incredible voice! He is, without a doubt, one of the best singers I have ever heard. I have read many reviews speaking about the fact that he was with Kansas. At the time I purchased "Defying Gravity", I did not know who he was, so I did not have any pre-conceived expectations when I bought his CD. I can honestly say that I was captured by his music right from the start because it stands on its own as being the BEST, not just in Christian music, but in the music arena at large. It's a real shame that he is not more widely recognized, acknowledged and appreciated for the magnificent God-given talent and wisdom he possesses. I pray that he realizes that there are those of us who know genius when we hear it and that he will continue to follow God's direction which has served him (and his listeners) so beautifully. I have recommended "Corridors" and "Defying Gravity" to everyone I know and I will continue to do so because God has blessed him with an exceptional gift that deserves to be heard. The world needs his message and his music."

"I AM FAMILIAR WITH JOHN ELEFANTE FROM HIS KANSAS DAYS - I PICKED UP CORRIDORS AND DEFYING GRAVITY LAST WEEK TO GET A FIRST LISTEN TO JOHN'S SOLO STUFF - BOTH CD'S HAVE BEAUTIFUL LYRICS, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT CORRIDORS, MUSICALLY, IS BETTER THAN DEFYING GRAVITY - CORRIDORS HAS MORE OF AN "ELEFANTE" SOUND TO IT AND DEFYING GRAVITY HAS MORE EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC ON IT (SOME OF THE SONGS HAVE STYLES THAT I FEEL JOHN ELEFANTE IS NOT SUITED FOR) - AGAIN, BOTH CD'S HAVE PROBABLY THE FINEST LYRICS I HAVE EVER HEARD ON ANY CD (A GREAT MESSAGE), BUT CORRIDORS OVERALL IS A BETTER CD"
Outstanding blend of lyrics, voice, and heart for God.

"I first knew of John Elefante as Steve Walsh's replacement as lead singer for Kansas. Kerry Livgren's book "Seeds of Change" describes how Elefante was brought on board with Kansas and what talents he brought with him. This album was given to me as a gift, and while I had heard "Corridors" get some airplay on the Christian radio station, I had not heard the rest of it. I played the tape for the first time while I was studying alone at my church. It was as if the Holy Spirit was singing directly to my heart. When he got to Talk to Me, I was cut to the heart. John Elefante really has a gift for communicating God's heartbeat to the believer, and in turn expressing love back to Him. Kind of like a modern day David, composing Psalms from the heart. I highly recommend this album, as well as his previous release "Windows of Heaven." John Elefante has such a fantastic range and emotive delivery."
Song after Song - Endless Corridor

"Another great John Elefante album. His vocal passion, quality, interpretation ... it's all here. Then there's the great production, lyrics, compositions ... all here too!John Elefante stands above his peers in the CCM genre. The amazing thing is how in the world the mainstream markets can pass up this talented artist. Oh well, thankfully I don't think John is too concerned about this rejection. He is very confident in his talents and his calling ... both very evident in his music. The best way I can describe Corridors is that I simply find it impossible to listen to it without listening to the whole CD. Although, not a concept album, it has a seamless continuity ... a great CD to take on a long trip. From the very start, the theme of the album is set with these words from the title track: "Take me down the Corridor that leads me to the Cross ... I want to be where You are" ... John also wants us to come along and his music is a vehicle to get there ...- Scriptor"

"I have played this disc at least once a day since I bought it two weeks ago. Of course we all recognize John as being the former lead singer / song writer for Kansas. Talk about song writing! This is the best album I have heard in a very, very long time...PERIOD! This guy has a gift that transcends my understanding of music. Every song is perfect, in every way: composition, musicianship, dynamics, restraint, emotion, listenability and lyrics...and his vocals are just beautiful. No flashy stuff, no headbanging, no rippin' solos or drum fills - Just an intimate, finely-crafted, wonderfully produced, collection of tastefully constructed "goose-bump" songs that will touch your heart. My close friend turned me on to this disc during one late-night musicathon, and I was ready to buy it about 30 seconds into the first song. I still can not listen to track 4, "Not Just Any Other Day", in anyone's prescence because I get choked up and teary eyed and embarass myself. Magnificent!"
