"A lively instrumental album coming right up to the brim on your coffee cup, filled with stay awake medicine of the brightest kind. Yes, even the lower key tracks like "Rain" come down in a Positive way. As a matter of fact, the shower picks up after the 5 minute mark, and sprinkles you like you're a little girl in your first thunderstorm. There's something so great and refreshing here.I'm pleased to have this cd, which shall remain in my personal collection. There's a good combo backing John up as well. Often they have a pronounced Latin limp that is spry and fanciful. "Nachos" begins with acoustic guitars in each ear and transports you emotionally to that part of the world that's south of Epcot. A wonderful experience, full of bongos, claves, jam blocks, and Flamenco guitars that stop for no lights.If you have a hankering for great instrumental guitar stuff, please for John Gilliat. You WON'T be disappointed, and you can only help this guy, and your psyche, out."

""Freedom" is very well put together, and comes from one of the area's premier flamenco guitarists. Gilliat quotes influences such as Paco de Lucia, Paco Pena, and Sabicas,among others, names that are probably unfamiliar to the mainstream listener. But Gilliat's fluid style warms the listener's ear quickly, allowing one to drift with the emotions of the songs, rather than just wowing them with his obvious talent. The "Freedom" CD is an easy listen, with songs floating from one to the other, putting the listener in mind of a patio seat at Los Margueritas, with the sun beaming down and a smile on your face.by Steve Gendron The Langley Advance News"

"I loved this CD. I have all types of noveau flamenco and find this one being my favorite. If you've listened to Armik, you'll find some of the same flavor in this CD but with a better array of rythms. I can't wait for the release of another album by John Gilliat. John, Im looking for a song that runs at least 8 minutes to use for a Doma Vaquera Exhibition, have any new tunes that might serve the purpose?"
