Gentle on my mind

"I love early Hartford, so relaxing and smooth. Almost sounds like Johnny Cash. This is a great disc - any big Hartford fan should pick it up!"
John Hartford at the Beginning

""Housing Project" was the first John Hartford LP album I ever got back in the late 60s. If you're a true John Hartford fan, and don't have this album, you're missing a great piece of his history. It's not all Bluegrass by any means. But it's uniquely Hartford. Having both is even better. I don't have to rely on my slightly scratchy MP3s I made from my original albums.

Growing up in suburbs of large mid-western or eastern cities, with no exposure to country, bluegrass, etc., "Housing Project" was a great transition into Hartford's music (though I'd already fell in love with it watching him open and close the Glenn Campbell show).

Disclosure Statement: I'm prejudiced. If it's John Hartford, it cannot possibly be less than a 4 rating! ;~}
