Great CD

"If you expect this to be a John Lee Hooker CD, don't buy it.
If you want to hear an amazing Blues CD, buy it.
Jr. Hooker is not his father. He's a very different Blues artist, and this very much a different album.
Hooker tells stories in different ways, some are humorous like the opener "Dear John,' others are more political, and some are both very modern and still classic Blues like "Blues ain't Nothing but a Pimp," and "Old School."
If you have never heard a Jr Hooker CD, this might be a good place to start. It seems to be aimed at a broader audience than "Blues with a Vengeance" or "Cold as Ice."
Now for the bad news - It seems like he only comes out with a new album every 2 years or so, and 2010 is a long way away. SO BUY THIS NOW

"As another reviewer wrote this is an excellant album for an introduction to Junior. His voice is much smoother than his father's and the lyrics are much more modern but this is a good example for listening to "modern" blues as opposed to the blues of his father. It's worth the money."
