Live from Philadelphia which is consists of mainly songs from Legend's two studio albums (2004's Grammy-winning Get Lifted and 2006's Once Again), is a high quality, well-produced release that further cements Legend's well-deserved reputation as a great live performer. The album features 19 performances including a duet with Corinne Bailey Rae on "Where is The Love". Other covers on the disc are Sly & the Family Stone's "Dance To The Music", the Roberta Flack hit "Feel Like Making Love" and the Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)."

Go for the studio recording

"I love John Legend. His silky-smooth voice and suave melodies play like hot [spiked] apple cider on a chilly night, but this cd does not reflect that. The production on this cd is what does it in. You can hear the commotion from the audience almost as loudly as the artist himself, and the disc is filled with unecessary 'tracks', like a couple minutes wasted on John introducing the band. Go with the studio recordings on which you can enjoy the music, untainted by the extras that come with thousands of loud fans."
