CD Reviews

Great old Hymns done well
James Snider | Dallas, TX United States | 12/17/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love this CD. It has just a little bit too much Appalachian influence to really be "Old English" but still very enjoyable. It is not overtly Appalachian. I am very glad I own it."

Cheerful and Uplifting Melodies
Rebekah A. Lane | USA | 01/22/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is wonderful music for someone who likes traditional melodies and old hymns. Most of the songs are familiar favorites, and the words come to mind as you listen. The tunes are fast-paced and upbeat, the instruments mostly wind and string, giving it a colorful old-world charm. My favorite song, hands down, is Come Thou Long Expected Jesus. It is a little slower than the others, beginning with just flutes in achingly beautiful strains, then growing fuller and stronger as other instruments are added with each line. I cried the first time I heard it, even though I didn't know what the lyrics are. I definately reccomend this music!"
