"For anyone familiar with the broadcasts of NPR's Live at the Riverwalk you will recognize John as the pianist of the Jim
Cullom Jazz Band. John's playing is a highlight in a group of very talented musicians. In addition to his playing he is also their arranger, many weeks the group is joined by the great Dick Hyman, he and John play many duets and at all times he stands as the equal of Hyman. He isn't very flashy but rather a highly competant professional who is full of very good ideas and very listenable player well worth your time."

"John Sheridan is a fine mainstream solo performer, and this album showcases his vigorous two handed solo style. Highlights include an appropriately Walleresque version of Waller's little known "How Ya Baby" and an unusually lively reading of "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea". A range of standards, by Gershwin, Donaldson, Berlin, Arlen, Ellington & J. Fred Coots are given solid swinging renditions.A worthy addition to the Arbors Piano Series, this CD is recommended to fans of mainstream piano."
