"John Stewart's folk opera about Route 66 is largely recorded on this CD. I saw John perform this material at a small fishing camp in Chama, N.M in the summer of 1997 and can attest that this is a beautiful eulogy to the "Mother Road"."

"If ever you've traveled the "Mother Road", you need to listen! Just pulled this one out of the racks again, after a trip from the mid-atlantic to NM, AZ & Utah. These songs sweep you into the dry, high desert. You meet a gaggle of interesting people (too real for TV), eat spanish omelets, get caught up in the Roswell extra-terrestials, and drive through scores of old Rt. 66 towns! Lots of nice acoustic guitar work, too...Where else are you gonna hear about Oatman, Arizona?"
