"I first heard this CD about two years ago and have returned to listen many times. While the "willowy" voice has all but disappeared, some of the old harmony is here - I believe you'll find Nick Reynolds singing backup; as usual with JS, the inflection and incantation of the lyrics convey the message. As a 20-something said to me at a JS Concert a few years ago, "You guys sure had some good tunes back in the 60's." And some good tunesmiths as well!"
Songs from his formative years sound better than ever!

"The Kingston Trio were certainly not some of the great musicians of their time, and the songs John Stewart wrote have not, until now, proved to be of lasting value. John Stewart, however, has re-recorded them using sparse and very tasteful arrangements. And it proves to be one of his best albums ever! "Those Who Are Wise", "New Frontier" and "One More Town" in particular, are standouts--but in fact, there isn't a bad one on the whole album. And at an incredibly low bargain basement price, it makes an excellent introduction to John Stewart, as well as a special treat for old fans like myself."
