CD ReviewsMister J Adrian Wattenmaker | New York, NY | 05/05/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "I have to say I've always been a fan of JT, dating back the early days of Duran Duran, and was thrilled when I got "Feelings Are Good And Other Lies," and the "Nerotic Outsiders." Getting back to his punk roots. Going solo was a very smart move.John has always done great work. His first Japan solo album is one of my favorites. Now with "Techno Fro Two" he continues to explore himself, as songs like "Mister J," and "Nigel Baby" suggest. "Techno For Two" is not techno album, but a wide range, from acoustic guitar to the electronic age, and at times blending the two nicely. You can tell in some songs who his has influenced him over the years (The Beatles, Roxy Music). My favorite song is "Mister J," which has evolved nicely over the years(an earlier version appeard on the album "Meltdown"). Some of my other favorite tunes are "6000 Miles," "Immortal," "Gabe," and the opening track "Love Is Bondage." I have only just begun to listed to this album, and my favorites are challanged to change, as they did with his last album. "Techno For Two" is wonderfully genuine."
