A superb remastering of an outstanding soundtrack.

"The gold CD of this very special soundtrack does justice to the exquisiteness of the music Mr. Williams composed for the film. I've compared it to the original pressing and there is such a remarkable improvement in clarity and presence of the instruments...in particular, the performance of Mr. Perlman. But most of all...I will never forget what the music represents."
A Must Listen!

"I am a violinist myself, and I really have to say this is probably John's most powerful score yet. I always program at least one piece from this score in every performance I give, and it absolutely never fails to wet every eye in the house, sometimes including mine. If you have a soul, you should also have this CD. :-)"
Excellent performance, difficult listening....

"Schindler's List not only reminds me of the horrendous atrocities that took place in Europe, but also gives me a visualization of the human spirit still existant in a world of hate and terrible crimes. To clearly illuminate this film with the drama involved in the story, an incredible soundtrack was developed. The beautiful yet depressing melodies echo the haunting images projeted on the screen like nothing I have seen or heard before. However, this listening experience is difficult to digest without the images in front of you. I can't imagine listening to this music simply for the musical qualities. Yes, I love this music, it nearly brings me to tears every time I listen to it, but that is exactly the reason why I put a 4 star rating on this album. The score is so very well set to the situation presented on the film, I believe listening to this music could depress someone very much. Please don't get me wrong. I love the music and the film, it's one of my favorites, but I would think carefully before purchasing this CD simply for listening pleasure. If you couldn't stand to live without hearing the music, buy this CD immediately. However, if you like the music in the film setting, I would suggest buying the film only."
