"I have used this disc as a test for new monitors. It will not disappoint you. Even after purchasing the speakers, I have yet to find anything else in my collection that sounds better. I used only tracks 14 and 15, as Hook has been a favorite score. These tracks give you a very wide range of orchestral sounds that are well recorded, from strings and flute on track 14, to heavy brass and percussion on track 15. The dynamics are simply incredible."
Excellent CD

"For the most part this is a stunningly good CD. From the epic grandeur of Jurassic Park's theme to the humorous "Dialogue" from Close Encounters, this CD covers the whole range, the whole spectrum of human emotions. From the Thrill of E.T.'s flying to the wonderful Smee's Plan from Hook (you can practically hear Smee's brain working), this is a sheer pleasure to listen to.There are a couple of little annoyances, though. There are a couple of weakers songs here which don't really stand up to the standard, JP's My Friend the Brachiosaurus for one. I don't understand this, as there are plenty of Spielberg/Williams songs which are much better and could have been included. The other thing is that Hook is a little overrepresented here. This CD has no less than 5 out of 15 songs from Hook.Still, an outstanding piece, showcasing some of Williams' strongest work."

"A very good CD. Some of the best of John Williams is on this recording. One gripe: track 7 (I think) is mislabeled -- it's not "The Barrel Chase," it's actually "Sea Attack Number One." That overlooked, a very enjoyable buy."
