CD Reviews

Duh
Tom Benton | 01/07/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For all the reviewers who say they were expecting the TV theme. Duh, it says 1970 soundtrack. The song you want to hear, all cleaned up is still called "suicide is painless now". 1970's and 80's CBS TV execs were not going to use the the depressing but meaningful lyrics on national TV. So you got some shlock recording studio instrumental version. And now after all these years, every Midwest yahoo thinks it's the original. And Alan Alda was the original Hawkeye too. Read before you buy! And learn to investigate things a little i.e. 1-Robert Altman's MASH. 2- CBS's MASH"
M*A*S*H* has no songs!

"Fans of M*A*S*H* will love this CD. All of the best dialogue from the movie directed by Altman, however, there are no complete songs. I would have loved to hear "Tokyo Shoe Shine Boy" or Sayonara . . . all the songs are in the background with the dialogue over. Even the famous "Suicide is Painless" cut isn't the best cut."
Soundtrack worthwhile?

"The Mash soundtrack is good for those that liked the movie. The soundtrack has more movie clips and sounds than songs. It would have been nice if some full songs were on the soundtrack . . . tokyo shoe shine boy, sayonara, etc."
