CD ReviewsThis CD kicks BUTT! rebaworshiper | Altoona, Iowa United States | 10/28/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "I am a HUGE fan of Jolie and her band, the Wanted!! I saw them in concert and bought the CD at the show and man, it's one of my FAVORITES! I have over 300 CD's that are ALL country and this is in my top 5!! I love people like Reba, The Chicks, Shania, Trick Pony, SHeDAISY, Clark Family Experience, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta, Patsy Cline and tons more. This CD keeps you listening all the way thru, from "Boom" to "I go Crazy"! I can't keep this out of my CD players! I've seen them in concert 2 times and the latest was just last night. Jolie was kind enough to sign autographs, pose for pix and visit w/ people afterwards. I got to hang w/ her for 30 minutes then w/ the Wanted for about another 1/2 hour, they are the nicest most down to earth people ever!! But, beware, when they're onstage they'll blow you away!!! They're working on their 2nd CD w/ Jeffrey Steele that will be released w/ WB, who she recently signed w/!! I can't wait, it's sure to be even better than this one, and that's gonna be hard!" A Great CD angie28 | Kingsley, IA United States | 09/23/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I saw Jolie in concert before she was with "the Wanted" and I liked her then. When I found out she got a recording contract, I couldn't wait until the CD came out. I kind of bought it to be supportive, plus the fact that I loved Boom and I Would. I listened to the whole CD and it's AWESOME! She's got upbeat songs and tear-jerker songs. It's a great CD for all ages and you can tell it comes from the heart." Refreshing Millie Wiggs | Virginia Beach | 10/23/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Jolie & The Wanted
JOLIE & THE WANTED DreamWorks Recordsby Millie Voliva-Wiggs If you could cross Dolly Parton with Pam Tillis and sprinkle in a little Britney Spears, you would get a vocal powerhouse that would jolt you with a bolt of excitement. Meet Jolie Edwards. Jolie & The Wanted delivers and defines a team project backed by some heavy hitters. Produced by Dann Huff (producer for Lonestar and an amazing guitar picker in his own right) the album contains the same magic Huff has given to other projects. With great songwriters like Chris Lindsey (writer of the Lonestar hit "Amazed") among others, the fruits of her labor are in full bloom. Brett James co-wrote with Troy Verges on what is sure to be a hit titled "I Would." And Edwards goes the extra mile lending her songwriting talents "I'm Beautiful." Al Anderson and Bob Dipiero join songwriter Jeffrey Steele on the raw and rambunctious "The Wantin' Not The Gettin'." Anderson and Steele team again to write " Wasted." Intros on both are cool and Edwards rocks it. Another pick hit is the richly textured "Let It Go" along with her stunning deliver of "You Make Me Feel Like A Woman." From the opener of "Boom," slice-of-life humor on love to it's conclusion with one of the greatest standouts on the album - the remake of the Paul Davis penned "I Go Crazy" the album push musical boundaries as a collective debut with personality. -30-" |
