"Jonny's "The Aviary" is an album that continually renews itself with

each listen, bringing out more tangible textures and emotions. It's

really a masterpiece. The album is like Peter and the Wolf (Sergei Prokofiev) meets Grace (J. Buckley)... a mixture of something completely old and completely now, to make something completely new but accessible.

Strings, wine glasses, guitars, and melodies that float like memories on the wind. Sometimes, I feel like I'm listening to somber christmas music in sunlit pine trees.. and other times, I'm walking in the early morning on Essex Street by Seward Park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, watching the faces of people just getting by and just getting up. The Aviary offers it all, sometimes all at once.



We live in a world that forces you not to pay full regard to anything. You have 100 million songs on your iPod, 100 different email/message accounts, and all that stuff... It seems nothing is substantive. Nothing makes a full connection. Or, gives itself fully. The Aviary and Jonny's music stands out as an exception. It calls you to listen. It calls you to pay full regard. And, it rewards you for doing so."
