"So, this is the 3rd in a series of 4 EPs leading up to the release of a full-length album in the fall.
Why? Why so many releases in such a short time?
Well, it's an attempt to challenge the idea of what is considered prolific. For many singer-songwriters it is considered quite prolific to put out maybe 1 album in a year with maybe 12 or 14 songs on the whole album. Is that really a lot of music?
Joseph Arthur is attempting to see what happens when he just focuses on writing and recording music without worrying about the usual lag and downtime for promotion between releases.
This 3rd EP in the series is much more stripped down and rough than the first two. Is that due to a distinct artistic choice? Or is it a matter of who could make it into the studio during the time they had to record?
The 4th EP lists Arthur as the only musician. Again a matter of nobody else having the time to record? Or is this series of EPs a way to distill Joseph Arthur's music down to Joseph Arthur, as himself?
Definitely a worthy musical experiment. Oh yeah, and I'd recommend ordering from Joseph Arthur's own website and getting the print of one of his paintings along with the CD."
Joseph Arthur is an amazing singer and songwriter

Joseph Arthur is phenomenal, June 9, 2009

I heard a cut on a local station, totally perked up, and waited to hear who it was. I had never heard of Joseph Arthur. I immediately ordered "Nuclear Daydream", "Could We Survive" and "Vagabond Skies". My husband and I keep playing all three. The music is exciting, moody, and cool. Joseph Arthur's voice is mellow, warmly raspy and resonates right through you. His lyrics are esoteric and provocative...and cool. We are so excited to have "discovered" him.
Vagabond Skies"
