Product DescriptionThe present recording of North German organ works of father and son Hieronymus (1560-1629) and Jacob Praetorius, Jr. (1586-1651) leads listeners to the threshold of the Renaissance and the early Baroque period. Joseph Kelemen (b. 1957) dedicates himself to historical performance practice on the organ. Today he is considered an authority on German organ music of the 17th c. as well as the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Mr. Kelemen is heard here on the Scherer Organ in Tangermunde, built 1570-80, and restored 1983-94.
