"I don't know what version of this CD Amazon is offering....the original Made in China was distributed by Low Pressure in 2000... anyway, this is indeed Josh's debut, that is heavy on lyrics and good natured battling. "La Rambla" is the illest song in my opinion, and has a very playful aesthetic. Josh's style is all his own, (much like Buck 65, though he is NOT the same person!!) Josh Martinez is a self-proclaimed hippy, and this carefree attitude is present in most of the songs on here.



What completely took me by surprise, however, was the unexpected inclusion of the song "Deny". Here Josh imagines himself as a Canadian soldier fighting on D-Day, and also witnessing the horrors of the holocaust first hand. The attention to historical accuracy and Josh's scrutiny of the Canadian government's inaction is quite inspired and moving. A song that is a stark contrast to the hedonism common to the rest of the songs on Made in China, and worth the purchase alone for its brevity.



Not as good as "Buck Up Princess" or "Josh Martinez Meets the Hooded Fang", but a soild album nonetheless."
