"Just as indicated by other reviewers, this collection is an oasis of traditional hymns, sung by a full choir. I was looking for something that brought back that "sit up straight in the pew" feeling of childhood and this was right on target. So much of what we hear in church today is so contemporary that it's lost its roots. When you want to return to the solid hymns you grew up on, here they are!



I agree with another reviewer that some of the soloists could have been better showcased if they'd remained a part of the group, but all-in-all, this is a nice collection of good old-fashioned hymns, sung in a traditional manner. The third CD is the most reserved, while the first two are more upbeat. All will find you singing along in fourt-part harmony remembering the words to the verses you wouldn't think were still tucked in your mind.



I've ordered this for both sets of parents for Christmas and am recommending it to friends."
