"Somewhere between 10 and 10:30 PM every Monday night, at the weekly Milonga (tango dance) in Honolulu, Hawaii, "En Paris Llueve Mas" - "It Rains More in Paris" - by Juan Carlos Caceres comes on. For me--even among the drama of Pugliese's music and the light-hearted zip of D'Arienzo--that one song by Caceres is always the highlight of the night's dancing. On this warm island, there is a magic in Caceres's voice that pulls us back to the rainy streets of Buenos Aires, and the rainier streets of Paris. It is a dark baritone voice that has soaked up the magic of big and rainy cities everywhere, a voice that suggests the wet sidewalks of Buenos Aires and of Paris (and of Seattle and of New York and of everywhere else it rains dramatically; yes, even of Los Angeles).

Like most of us in the Hawaii tango scene--like most of us this in this world--I have to work on Tuesdays...but I would never think of leaving the Monday dance until George Garcia and Kai Roberts, our wonderful local tango teachers and DJs, have played "En Paris Llueve Mas," this perfect song of Caceres. Get this recording...it somehow combines French chanson and Argentine Tango in an absolutely perfect mix."

"The title "En Paris LLueve Más" is an authentic masterpiece of poetry which, not only for us Argentinians who live "under the rain" in Europe, but also for anybody else who wants to wave his soul with the intimate "mufa" (witty sadness) of Juan Carlos Caceres' melodic pieces. "Ché Juan, saludáme Reynald!" :-)"
