"I gave up on Nashville country music several years ago. Since then I've had to do a lot of reading and researching to find the kind of country that has a soul. Dale Watson was the first discovery that gave me hope that there were still artists out there keeping alive this brand of honkytonk music. Then lo and behold I read a review from a British country magazine, "Country Music People," and stumble upon Justin Trevino. His cd, "Loud Music and Strong Wine" is packed with 16 great country songs. This blind-from-birth singer from Lockhart, Texas, never stumbles. Great pedal steel guitar and fiddle permeate the album. Along with Ed Burleson, Kelly Spinks, and Roger Wallace, Justin Trevino keeps the country in Texas and the Texas in country."

"Upon listening to just the samples of Justin Trevino's album Loud Music and Strong Wine I knew that I had to have all of the albums. I have nearly given or thrown away all of my more recent purchases of the current artists as they leave me still wanting to hear that honky tonk sound. But not one note of Justin's music is a "throwback". This man should be discovered and taken to the top to lead the way BACK to the music that we real country fans love so dearly."

"One of the best to come along in a long time. Heard one of the songs on XM Radio and had to have the cd. Waited a year on Amazon for it to come available. Was not disappointed in the least. I fact I sent the cd to WSDS in Yspilanti MI for them to play. Even though I live in Wyoming, I listen to this station on the internet. They play very traditional country music. 40s, 50s, 60s on 78s, 45s, 331/3s and cds. Two djs that are the greatest: Keith Jason and Andy Baron. They also liked Justin and are playing his music. Hope I get it back!!"

"IF YOU LIKE REAL TEXAS WESTERN SWING, WHICH IS HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS, YOU WILL LOVE THIS CD. JUSTIN HAS THE RANGE NECESSARY TO INJECT THE FEELING AND EMOTION INTO THIS WELL ROUNDED SELECTION OF HONKY-TONK TUNES. THE TOP FORTY "STARS" BEST NOT TRY TO COVER ANY OF JUSTINS WORK. THE BAND IS A PERFECT MATCH FOR JUSTIN WITH GREAT STEEL AND FIDDLE WORK BACKED BY A SOLID RHYTHUM SECTION LAYING DOWN A GOOD 2-4 BEAT ON MOST SONGS WITH EMPHASIS ON THE OFF-BEAT WHICH SHOULD FILL UP THE DANCE FLOOR EVERY TIME. THE ONLY CD RELEASED THIS YEAR THAT MIGHT COMPARE WITH LOUD MUSIC AND STRONG WINE IS, IN MY OPINION , JUSTINS LATEST RELEASE; TRAVELING SINGING MAN. THX"

"Here's a man who'll take you to the honky tonks of yore, sing a song and remind you of what ole time country and western music was all about. Too bad, we get to hear nothing like this these days ... hey, all you new country discoverers lend your ears to this singer and find out what distinguishes the old timers like Haggard, Jones, Justin, Conway and many more had to offer you before the so-called 'country artists' of today...Way to go Justin..."
