"Holy cow... I was just looking for new cds and found someone's recommendation for this one. I didn't buy it, but just heard the samples. I actually winced and had to turn it off, she was so flat. Her intonation is absolutely awful! (Meaning, she's really out of tune). I am a singer with a really good ear, and honestly, I can't listen to it... I feel bad saying that, but it's the truth."

"KT, who comes from a large musical family, possesses a wonderful soprano voice that has enabled her to become one of America's finest cabaret singers. Originally from Oklahoma, KT is now based in New York.



On this album, KT focuses on the music of Richard Rodgers, who composed many classic songs, either with Oscar Hammerstein or Lorenz Hart. KT has avoided most of the really famous songs, choosing instead to revive less obvious songs. So you won't find You'll never walk alone, Some enchanted evening or It might as well be spring among the songs here, but you will find plenty of outstanding songs, all of which KT sings beautifully.



Perhaps the best know of the songs here is The gentleman is a dope, from the Broadway musical Allegro - the song was a top twenty American hit for Jo Stafford in 1947 but has been recorded by my fine singers since then. In contrast, there are some almost-forgotten songs like When you're dancing a waltz, which KT has paired in a waltz medley wit another rarely recorded song, Do I hear a waltz.



If you enjoy quality cabaret music, especially if you like the songs of Rodgers, Hart and Hammerstein, give KT a listen."
