"Kano... London MC. Spent years on pirate radio and doing raves on the so called 'grime' scene before getting signed to The Streets (Mike Skinner) label 679.
His flow is nice "Yea I make beats but flows my game" and his production is tight too - amongst them Mike Skinner, grime heavyweights Terrah Danja and Da Vinche and Kano himself are amongst those responsible for the beats.
The beginning is fairly grimey but what I like about this album is uses a variety of styles for beats. Kano shines on all of them. The hip hop/drum n bass styled (See Reload It), hip hop/rock (Don't Know Why - similar to Jay-Z's 99 Problems), latino (Remember Me) and the RnB influenced Brown Eyes are all very good. The only track I didn't feel too much was Nite Nite featuring the Streets which ironically as a single is becoming more popular than the previous singles Remember Me, P's & Q's and Typical Me.
Although sometimes simple lyrically Kano shows talent with versatility. There are personal introspective songs tracks towards ladies and also some conscious talk. The bonus track is his first song he released, the self produced Boys Love Girls which is one of the many highlights. I am very proud that he made an album of this quality and would be interested to know if the US likes it. Pick it up and listen."
Kano the new big thing
