Product DescriptionBegun as a Carnegie Mellon University thesis project, Godspell debuted off-Broadway in 1971, became a movie in 1973 and moved to Broadway in 1976. Stephen Schwartz received his second Tony nomination when Godspell was nominated for Best Score in 1977. He had previously been nominated for his 1973 Broadway musical, Pippin, and would again be nominated for his current musical, Wicked. Our accompaniment/karaoke CD of songs from Godspell features 32 tracks. Tracks 1-16 contain the background tracks and guide vocals; tracks 17-32 contain the accompaniment tracks alone. This album is a re-recording in the original show key and show tempo. This album plays in any CD player. In a karaoke machine, lyrics will appear on-screen. A lyric booklet is included.
