"From the evocative beauty of Albeniz, "Leyenda" and "Granada", to the world premier of Koshkin's Hispanic suite, this CD is a totally captivating experience. Ms Schaupp has technical brilliance second to none, with a gift for tender lyricism, never better expressed than in Barrios "Una Limonsna Por El Amor De Dios" and the rarley heard "Aires Andaluces" a performance which surely justifies the purchase of this CD alone. Other works represented here are Granados "Dedication" from Tales of youth, a charming minature, Piazzola "Verano Porteno" (harbour in summer) a brilliant Spanish dance by Sanz de la Maza, the famous "La Paloma" by Yradier, "Choro" by Villa Lobos, and Rodrigo "Fandango". In essence, this is the sound of Spain, and perhaps moreover, the sound of the guitar, and what it can express. A moving, and at times exhillerating performance."
