CD Reviews

THIS ALBUM IS HOT!!!
A. Antoniou | NEW YORK CITY | 09/28/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love good music period. R&B, blues, rock, funk, folk- you name it - just good music. I had heard of Karl Denson from his work with Lenny Kravitz. A friend of mind had this CD and when I saw the special guests on this album Meshell Ndegocello, Marc Ford (Black Crowes), Jon Forman (Switchfoot)- I decided to check it out and I was glad I did. Karl Denson?s Tiny Universe is hot! If you like serious danceable grooves, great jamming and musicianship ? you will dig this one. The tune ?Shake it Out? is relentless. These guys need to be heard. Great music...real music!

An Excellent album

"I'd not really heard of these guys before, but went to see them with a friend a few weeks ago in Brooklyn and man what an amazing band this is. Picked up this new one and its maybe my album of the year so far. Bits of Motown, funk, soul...It rocks it swings, it jams. Highlight is the two parter Album title, really great deep meaning to this one and just a great fun record too.

You won't be sorry letting this guy be your keeper. Essential listening."

"Very good funk jazz. Great message in the tunes, taking care of ones fellow brother. You've got to see him live with his Tiny Universe. Also try his The Bridge CD."
