FUNNY to the tenth power

"I see that I'm the first person to review "In Other Words," but I have no doubt that I won't be the last. With all her appearances on TV (including the Tonight Show) and across the country, Kathleen Madigan can hardly be called an undiscovered talent, but considering just how good she is, I think the fact that she isn't BETTER-known is some sort of mortal sin; I'll consult my catechism.
I recently discovered Kathleen Madigan's standup material on Comedy Central, and even with the occasional BLEEP and infuriating commercial she was still the funniest comedian I've seen in years. Too many years. Her material is uniformly brilliant and thought-provoking, adult but not dirty, covering topics ranging from her brothers (and they're real: she's got pictures of them on her website) to George Bush to eternal life to drinking copious quanities of ale in blessed Ireland, you name it, she's got it in there. In fact, for a sheer intellect-to-hilarity ratio, the only other living comedian in her league is the great Eddie Izzard. She's THAT good.
If you've already heard her material you know this newest CD is a sure bet; if you've never heard her before, I urge you to take a chance and grab this."
As good as expected, but more adult

"I loved her "Shallow Happy Thoughts for the Soul" and added "In Other Words" to my collection. It's every bit as funny as the first, but with more explicit language. I voted for George Bush, am Catholic, and am a WV resident and still found all those jokes related to those areas funny. Her delivery, impersonations, speed, and cracking her ownself up make me laugh."

"If you aren't afraid to laugh, you have to buy this CD. You will go from screaming in laughter to deep sadness when the last track ends. Kathleen keeps it real."
