CD ReviewsAnother consistent album from this Bay area bluegrass band Steven I. Ramm | Phila, PA USA | 06/06/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) "It's hard to believe that songwriter/guitarist Kallick has been leading bluegrass bands for 35 years now (beginning with Good ol' Persons) and cranked out 15 albums over those years. The newest one is not that much different from the other recent CDs, combining new songs (in the old style of bluegrass) with newly-adapted classics . Tom Bekeny has been with her for many years while the two Alaskan Booths - father ansd son - (Dan was formerly with Bearfoot), are newer.
Kallick fans will want this one while the mixture of traditional bluegrass styles, a Roger Miller-style song ("My House") and some country gospel ("There's A Higher Power") should bring Kallick and the band some new listeners. Steve Ramm "Anything Phonographic" " |
