CD ReviewsA great forgotten album! Stargazer | New York | 05/09/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "A great album by a great band! This album has everything that was good about hair metal....great vocals, shredding solos, catchy riffs and shouted choruses. This album comes after there most succesful album The Final Frontier which peaked at number 53 on the billboard charts in 1986.
1.United Nations- 10/10 A great opener. The intro harmony is great. An excellent melodic metal song similar to The Scorpions. The chorus is excellent and has tose great shouted backround vocals. Excellent vocals by Ron Keel of course. A great guitar solo and another great harmony. A classic! 2.Somebody's Waiting- 10/10 A great song. The only single released from the album. The riff is catchy as hell and the soft part leads into the heavy part perfectly. The huge chorus is great too. The guitar solo is excellent. The bridge and solo are both great too. The guitar solo reminds of George Lynch too! Ron Keels vocals are excellent and the high pitched screams are great too! One of my favorite songs ever. 3.Cherry Lane- 8/10 A good poppy song. The song reminds me of Van Halen and the keyboards work well here. The chorus is my favorite part of the song. Another good guitar solo too. Not one of the better songs on the album but still good. 4.Calm Before The Storm- 7/10 A decent power ballad. The song is a bit too soft and generic but not that bad. Some great lead guitar work in this one though! 5.King Of The Rock- 10/10 A great fast song. Perfect for headbanging. The riff is great and the chorus is excellent. The high harmony vocals in the chorus sound great too. The solo shreds too and has a great trade off. Another classic! 6.It's A Jungle Out There- 10/10 Another great rocker. The riff is excellent and the harmony is great too. Ron Keel's vocals are great too. The screams before the solo are awesome. Once again the solo shreds. Another huge chorus too! 7.I Said The Wrong Thing To The Right Girl- 7/10 A good poppy song. The keyboards and the chorus are good. The solo is very good too. Good but not one of the better songs. Don Dokken contributes backround vocals to this song. 8.Don't Say You Love Me- 10/10 A great song. The harmony is excellent and the song reminds me a bit of Under Lock And Key era Dokken. The chorus is great so is the riff. Another great guitar solo too. Once again Ron Keel's vocals are excellent. 9.If Love Is A Crime( I Wanna Be Convicted)- 10/10 Another great song. This reminds me of The Scorpions. Ron's vocals are great and the riff is catchy as hell. Another great chorus too. A great harmonized solo too. 10.4th Of July- 10/10 Another great fast song. The backround vocals and chorus are excellent. Another great solo too. Some great riffs too. Another classic. This is a great forgotten album. It is hard to find but fans of Dokken, TNT, Quiet Riot and The Scorpions should enjoy this. The musicianship is great and this is hair metal at it's best. Don Dokken and Jaime St. James also guest on this album. Ron Keel- Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards Marc Ferrari- Lead Guitar, Vocals Bryan Jay- Lead Guitar, Vocals Kenny Chaisson- Bass Guitar, Vocals Dwain Miller- Drums, Percussion, Vocals" |
