Mantra is a collaborative duo offering of all-original music from acclaimed pianist Keith Javors and alto saxophonist Dane Bays. The strength of the recording lies within the forward-looking compositions by Javors and Bays, which might best be described as a fusion of the music of such jazz artists as Wayne Shorter and Kenny Garrett, and such pop/R&B artists as Sting and Seal. The result is a highly convicted performance that is both innovative and steeped in tradition.

"Keith Javors is the epitome of sheer musical genius. His ability to create music which is accessible to the listener yet challenging for the musician is a rare feat, comparable to composers such as Wayne Shorter. In short, GET THIS ALBUM and anything else you can get your hands on by Javors. I highly recommend From Here to the Street and the upcoming High Road. Anyway, on Mantra you get to hear some of Keith's first compositions; music in its raw form. He is complimented by Dane Bays' intense but heartfelt playing. Keith's playing is something that simply has to be heard to be beleived and cannot be done justice by some simple review. Get the album and see for yourself.UNF GUITARISTS PIPE"
