"The power and beauty of her singing may be lost on those not familiar with Hawaiian music and culture, but this wide-ranging album will touch any Hawaiian or Hawaiian at heart. Her mastery of the language and emotional delivery is astounding. Her vocal stylings are obviously heavily influenced by traditional chant, but she also shows a rich alto voice for love songs. Although most of these songs are original compositions, you'll quickly recognize the idioms of Hawaiian music, along with some unique touches. My favorites are "Lovely Hinahina" and "Pua Milo", both will give a Hawaiian music lover chicken skin! If you got a kick out of Keali'i's "Nematoda", you'll recognize Kekuhi Kanahele's distinctive voice."
