Although I have been writing and composing music most of my life, I have only started saving these songs in the past two years or so. Prior to this, I would create songs that I would sing at the top of my lungs to release all of the creativie energy that was pent up within me. I suppose it was my own therapy. At my next visit to the piano, all memories of the previous song would have disappeared only to be replaced by a new one.. Until.......my sister heard one of my latest creations and insisted that I start writing them down. I do not read music, but I know where middle C is. So I adopted a plus/minus and black/white musical notation system. This is how I started writing the music for my songs. I knew that Eric Bazillian (of The Hooters) lived nearby so one day I decided to go and knock on his door. I explained I was a novice musician and asked if he would please give me some feedback on a few songs I had recently recorded, which he was kind enough to do. He encouraged me to continue and reminded me that most importantly to do it because 'I loved doing it'. So thanks Eric. Quite by accident I found a great producer who listened to my music and agreed to work with me. I can't say enough about this man, Stephen Butler, from the band Smash Palace. He is the one who has paved the way to making this CD. Stephen has taught me so much. He is an extermely talented musician with loads of experience behind him, which he needed for the likes of me. I was lucky enough to be played on the radio before the CD even came out. That too was Stephen's doing. So here I am today, It's Only Me.
