"Every culture has developed a musical language or style of its own involving different rhythmic schemes, different moods and relationships between musical pitches and of course different instruments. In the era of the quest for extraterrestrial life, in the age where we are reaching out to the stars and dreaming of meeting the alien, what would be their music like? Music, the fundamental constituent of any life. Music that engages mind and soul and stimulates the spiritual entity to a degree seldom achieved by any other manifestations of a living-being expression. I think their music is echoing in the Kelley Polar space.
Kelley Polar music calls forth images with its sounds and rhythms of colorful intricate shapes analogous to images of dazzling stars and their glowing gas and nebulas. This is the music that will be haunting in your mind while you're looking at the stars and indulging in the fantasy of swiftly flying in space, the same as hearing Debussy's music in your mind while looking at a Monet's soleil levant for example.
I heard the album on the iTunes and decided to have the cd here physically with me. I recommend this intriguing album "I need you to hold on while the sky is falling" to anyone who loves the music that not only stimulates your dancing soul but also your mind.
The first track starts with interlacing threads of different rhythmic elements that resolve into an interesting dancing beat which makes up the best introduction to the album.
Who doesn't dream of falling from high? .. but falling and approaching earth with exponentially decreasing time increments? This is the second track. Many centuries ago music was a science, but after hearing this track .. is that music in science? The tempo starts to accelerate exponentially emulating the repeatedly splitting of the distance into two that it would take infinite number of distance segments to fly down .. enjoy the journey!
The third track is my favorite and it was available for free on iTunes ...so get it when you can and check the music going on on that spaceship.
How does it feel like if we were on a planet orbiting any of those dying stars ... this is the feeling when you listen to the mysterious music on tracks 4 and 5. Regarding 6 and 7 .. I would say that this is the futuristic love songs with the latter resonating with classical music. We live in an expanding universe, that is track 8 and the name is so descriptive that I cannot say more except that you will hear the sound of the universe. Sea and sine waves (track9) is also my favorite, it made me love synthesizers. Again the element of mathematics appears in track 10 and the wording controls the weaving of the voices.. well you will know what I'm talking about when you listen to it. Finally track 11 brings back the feeling of the infinite patterns that extend beyond the visible material world into a "paradisum".
The album embraces such diversity of ideas that combine into a whole of very good enjoyable music which the artwork of the album perfectly illustrates. Every track has its own identity and beauty. After arriving to the last track I feel like I almost forgot how the first one goes and feel like listening all over again and therefore the five stars.
