"While the last four selections listed here clearly differ in format from the tunes on the original LP, (they are from a 1977 outing and more "modern"in approach), they are excellent efforts and quite challenging. They are a bit of a departure for Burrell, whose lush and sophisticated style has no equal in recorded jazz guitar; but the latter is clearly in evidence/abundance in the tunes from the original LP. About 30 years ago a prominent jazz writer suggested that Burrell had never made a bad album. This remains true to the present day. The 1st half of this set alone is probably worth twice the price of admission. Get hip !"
