A Truly Great Kiki Dee Album

""Perfect Timing" is an album that is still as fresh and vibrant as when it was released in 1981. While it gleaned a hit single in Britain,"Star", it was virtually unknown in the US which is a great pity since it remains one of Kiki Dee's finest works. Kiki Dee has long been one of Britain's finest singers having began her career during the early 60s. This album is proof that Kiki Dee moved with the times easily adapting to the uptempo
techno style that emerged with the title track's synthesizers without pushing Kiki's voice too far back. Star is followed by an excellent duet with Elton John, Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever. Midnight Flyer is a great pop song which should have been a follow-up hit to Star. This CD deserves to be reissued and it will not disappoint any fan of Kiki Dee's music. "Perfect Timing" is a truly great example of great music that emerged from that era. The title track would have been perfect for dance clubs. Kiki's sublime voice is excellent in both upbeat pop and heart rendering ballads such as You Are My Hope In This World. The five added songs are alternate mixes and it is a delight that the extended version of "Perfect Timing" is included and songs from singles. This album is a treasure of an artist who has not received the recognition she deserves. Kiki Dee is still recording but not pop fare. She tours Great Britain with Carmelo Luggeri with whom she creates non-commercial music and time has not diminished the excellence of her sublime voice. "Perfect Timing" is one of seven Kiki Dee classic albums to be reissued with bonus tracks and all are remastered. I highly recommend all of her work. She still remains one of Britain's finest voices."
