"I had heard of but actually never heard the late Kim Tolliver sing until this CD was recommended by a friend. Well what a soulful experience that turned out to be.
It's not a long album but it is a perfect one which left me breathless at the depth of Kim's performance as she lays bear her soul coupled with her amazing vocal range. There is a 12 page booklet with a most informative essay written by John Ridley and the album as been re-mastered so well that Kim's voice is shown to its full potential.
I usually try to pick out the stand out tracks but in this album's case it's impossible as all eight are of the highest calibre. Kim Tolliver was an excellent soul singer who never achieved the success that she truly deserved.
I'm so glad that this album has now been issued on CD for the first time as I came close to missing out on something wonderful. I hope that many more will now discover this little gem.
