CD Reviews

One Of My Favorites
AcousticTrail | 01/23/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I believe this is a re-issue (one of numerous) of the album Once Upon A Time. The previous review is correct in it's assertion that there's very little, if any, between song banter which has been edited out. This is rare for a Kingston Trio live album. However, the music is top notch. The vocals are right on target. In fact, this and Live at the Crazy Horse are my two favorite KT live albums. Worth checking out."
Something is seriously missing

"I enjoy the trio and many of their songs. The audience was included in "Tom Dooley" and "Goodnight Ireen." I have enjoyed songs like M.T.A and the Tijuana Jail since I was in elementary school. However, there is no humor or commentary between the songs. Part of the reason why I listen to folk concerts is because of the humor. If you want to hear the trio live, I would recommend either "College Concert" or "Back in Town." However, I would not settle for "In Concert" because it does not have nearly the excitment that other live recordings have."
