"At over $700, I'm never going to own this collection. I just wanted to point out that the Kinks' RCA albums have all recently been re-released on 180g vinyl and sell for about $20 a pop, and I'd bet they sound as good or better than these CDs.

The RCA albums were far from the golden age of the Kinks. Muswell Hillbillies is really the only classic in the bunch. This set basically documents Ray's slide into pet obsessions and then his only moderately successful attempt to reclaim his rocker credentials. A couple of good songs per disc tops.

You'd have to be an incredibly wealthy obsessive completist to want to own this set."
