"I must say that I'm very surprised no one else has written a review of this album, numerous years after it's release. I discovered Kip Hanrahan through this CD, which admittedly, I picked up for about two bucks in a used CD store. I knew nothing about Hanrahan, or even what kind of music was on this CD. But it "looked" intriguing, so I added it to my pile.Well after all these years, I still return to this album as a source of creative inspiration, and awe. "Tenderness" is devoid of genre, swimming from jazz to throbbing latin percussion and a hint of the Argentinian tango. It's dark, beguiling, and incredibly hot. It's a head trip unlike any other CD I own."

"Rhythms, sounds, poetry and all kinds of unique nonsense colliding, careening and backbeating in every possible way! Excellent! Bought it when it first came out on LP, and it runs neck and neck with Kip's earlier Days and Nights of Blue Luck Inverted but its more spirited, noisier, with more low end, less empty space, less pacing. Kip, do a film score!
