CD ReviewsLead Singer Gone Solo... Michael A Polani | Antioch, Ca. United States | 03/11/2004 (3 out of 5 stars) "This CD intended to showcase the awesome vocal abilities of former lead singer of the R&B funk band of the late 80"s TEASE, but it came up short of those expectations. I don't blame Kipper Jones for the disappointment as much as I do the music industry. "Ordinary Story" should have been titled "Same 'Ol Story" When the industry tries to put a very talented singer in the position of "Pop" singer, it never seems to come out right. With hit's in the 80's such as "Firestarter" and "Soft Music", Jones was forced into singing what "They" wanted him to sing. The highlight of this CD is Kipper's rendition of the Isley's "Footsteps In The Dark" and what a rendition it is. Soulful, Sultry, and proves my point. As you can tell I was very disappointed with this release, but I don't hold Kipper respondsible. I know he's been doing some writing and producing for others over the years, but Kipper, if you're reading this, call Derek O, Chuckii Booker and the rest and show this industry what you're all about!!! I miss ya' man... Peace and Much Love...Polani" WHAT IS THIS CD?
