Synopsis

Album Description
Composer John Ottman delivers a killshot with his score to the big screen action/thriller/mystery KISS KISS, BANG BANG, the knockout directorial debut from screenwriter Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, The Long Kiss Goodnight) starring Robert Downey, Jr. (Chaplin, Wonder Boys, Gothika), Val Kilmer (Top Gun, The Doors, Heat, Alexander) and Michelle Monaghan (Boston Public). Mr. Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X-Men 2, The Fantastic Four) fashions a positively dynamic, jazzy and sensuous orchestral score, rich with infectious themes that enrich this delightful film's suspense, romance and humor.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one of John Ottman's best scores - and if you haven't seen Shane Black's movie yet, search it out, because it's one of the most entertaining times you'll have at the theater this year. A blast! Ottman's music score totally blends comedy, suspense, mystery, action and romance into a really cool, Mancini-like jazzy trip. I can't stop listening to it. Similar to his "Usual Suspects" and "Goodbye Lover" in some ways, but still a total original and a big part of what makes "Kiss Kiss the movie" so much fun. The CD booklet has informative, in depth notes from Ottman and writer/director Shane Black. Can't wait for Ottman's "Superman" score next year."
