CD Reviews

Frustrating

(2 out of 5 stars)

"I really want to like this album because the beats are on point! I purchased this only because I googled "if you like Little Dragon, you might like..." and Kissey Asplund came up. IN NO WAY DO HER VOCALS COMPARE TO YUKIMI NAGANO OF LITTLE DRAGON. I have read reviews and stuff that have mentioned this. Kissey's voice is sooooo frustrating, no melody and flow, no smoothness. Too many ooh ooh, ah ah ah incomplete stop short vocals. Too fluttery its overkill. I generally like vocalists inspired by the early jazz vocalists for instance Yukimi Nagano, Erykah Badu, Esthero, Amy Winehouse, love em. But Kissey doesn't seem natural. The sounds don't seem to come natural. Its almost a style thats trying too hard. On the other hand... beats are dope."
I think she's delightful!!!
