"This is a wonderful opportunity to hear what Kix can really do. He has a wonderful voice and is a very talented song writer. I couldn't be happier with this album and I am thrilled that I found it. As much as I love Brooks & Dunn as a duo, I love having an album of only Kix singing. I have several favorite songs especially Last Rodeo, Sacred Ground & The River. If you are a Kix fan this is well worth adding to your collection."

"Shortly before he did a smashing duo with Ronnie Dunn. Kix Brooks made this self titled debut album which frankly is not the greatest but still very listenable. With Brooks and Dunn you hear alot of Ronnie's voice more than you will hear Kix Brooks voice and this is the chance to see what Kix can deliver on his own. Was not to happy with this collection of music I got bored fast and good thing Ronnie Dunn came along."
