"A compilation of "East Side Wedding" (1977) and "Streets of Gold" (1978), this is one hour and 54 seconds of glorious, rousing music that will make you want to dance and celebrate the joy of being alive. There is a rough, street band quality to these early Klezmorim songs that I find so appealing and there is an emotional energy that is so strong it feels like there is a live band in your living room. The little two page booklet is written by Lev Lieberman (co-founder, alto-sax, flute, etc.) and describes how these early LPs came about: "With humor and passion, these recordings document the first eggshell-chirpings of the Klezmer renaissance". Yes ! Humor and passion...two things we all can use more of and you'll find both in abundance in this fabulous CD."
Now that's Klezmer

"My first taste of this band was their recent album Metropolis which I've enjoyed a lot. I got this album because I wanted to hear their earlier work because I prefer the less polished old style Klezmer. The playing is great and the musicality is outstanding and for me its icing on the cake that it sounds older and a bit more raw so for my taste, I like this one better."
