Amazing but unheard of band

"My friend introduced me to this band, and I have to say they are one of the greatest I've ever heard among the melancholy metal groups (new Amorphis, new Katatonia, etc). It's too bad their stuff is imported (I'm in the U.S.).
In any case, this is really emotive, melancholy metal at its best. Lots of emotional clean singing, lots of delay/chorus on the guitars, but also some really tight double bass and intense, angry moments. Imagine Katatonia but less "pop," sadder, and angrier and you begin to understand Klimt, 1918.
The lyrics are a bit on the sappy side and deal mostly with nostalgia for youth and the (puppy) love that goes with it. Their english is not that strong, but most people don't listen to metal for the lyrics anyway. The singing more than makes up for their not-so-great english.
One thing that separates Dopguerra from their earlier efforts is that the music is a couple of shades "brighter" or less melancholy. At first, I didn't like it but then it really grew on me because it means the music is more dynamic and diverse than before.
The bonus tracks are great. All of the remixes are surprisingly phenomenal, some of them are electronica/dance remixes and others are all-acoustic guitars, so it's a great variety.
I can't wait for their next release!"
