"This album i copped in 2003, and i must say this album is official,hot production by Dr Butcher (very underrated producer),Naughty Shorts,and T-Ray (he produced for the artifacts ' classics like Wrong Sides Of The Tracks),this album is a classic, very underrated, my favorite tracks are 4,5,6, Take 'Em To War,Executioner Style, Blowing Up In The World(using the hot blazing sample of Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love),and my favorite Ghetto Knows,and based on what i read on mf grimm's interview there was supposed to be a video for the single Take Em To War but i think he got locked up or somethin' like that,plus he got shot and got paralysed, somethin i read but that wouldve been hot but instead it was replaced by fast life which is a hot song but i like the buckwild remix better, this album is recommended for fans of mid 90's hip hop, real hip hop and kool g rap, hope u guys found this review helpful, peace."

"In 1995, Kool G. Rap split from DJ Polo and went on the solo and dropped the album 4,5,6. Not many people speak of this album when the mention Kool G., so this right here seems to be sort of a lost album. Whats a little different about this than his previous releases is that the album is shorter, and hes lyrically changed. There aren't a lot of story telling tracks on here that go into detail, as many were used to, but more lyrical tracks that covered many topics that were popular back in '95 (such as the Mafia lifestyle, but G. Rap flipped it to make it seem original).

Most of the tracks on here have solid quality. I have to admit, I had to let this album grow on me. But when you analyze the whole album, songs like "4,5,6", and "It's A Shame" are both dope. "Take 'Em To War" is a hot song as well and features B1, and MF Grimm. "Executioner Style" will fit perfectly in the rap game topics that were popular back then, with a dope sounding beat. I think "Blowin' Up In The World" is my favorite out of this album, because of the fact Kool G.'s rhymes are on point the most on here, about coming up (the popular tongue twisting style is unique with him). "Fast Life" is another highlight with young and fresh sounding Nas. The album final track "Money On My Brain" is another excellent colab with B1 and MF Grimm again.

The overall album is hot. It may grow on some, while others it will hit right away. It fits perfectly into the mid-late hip hop back in '95. Kool G. never misses a step with this album and has a long line of classics before this album. This is one I would recommend. Peace.

"Following three collaboration album's with DJ Polo "Road to the Riches (1989),Wanted: Dead Or Alive (1990), Live and Let Die (1992)", Kool G Rap (A.K.A. Nathaniel Wilson, Kool Genius of Rap) made his solo debut with "4,5,6" (1995) an eleven track release which featured guest appearances from Nas, B1 & MF Grimm. Production on this release came from Dr. Butcher, Naughty Shorts, T-Ray & Buckwild. The Corona Queens native has been praised by many MC's over the years who were influenced by his distinct and unique rhyming style, whether it be the late great Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, 2Pac, Nas, Mobb Deep, Saigon or his own contemporaries like Rakim & Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap has had a major influence on the Rap game paving the way for many. After the intro, Kool G Rap get's thing started with an outstanding track in "4,5,6", backed by some ominious production G Rap takes his audience to the streets with a hustling cut, delivering grimy and hardcore lyrics letting it be known hes nothing to be ****** with. Next up is "It's A Shame", G Rap flows fast backed by a chorus of "Now it's a d*** shame, what I gotta do just to make a dollar, Living in this game, sometimes it makes you wanna holler", G Rap kills this track. The album's first guest appearances come from B1 & MF Grimm who deliver a decent track with "Take Em To War", G Rap makes a late appearance. Kool G Rap keeps the hardcore lyrics coming on "Executioner Style". On "For Da Brothaz", starts the track rhyming about a fourteen year old kid who becomes a murderer and gets killed by a younger boy, in a track dedicated to a friend name K-Von who died on the streets. Buckwild of D.I.T.C. laces G Rap with some dope production for the outstanding "Blowin' Up in the World", G Rap remembers days past growing up poor, and the work he put in to make it in this rags to riches story. Kool G Rap & Nas deliver a Queensbridge classic with "Fast Life" backed by some more on point production from Buckwild, this is a dope collaboration, these two have excellent lyrical chemistry, delivering a deadly crossfire with dope verse after verse. Kool G Rap then takes his audience to New York City for another memorable track in the Naughty Shorts produced "Ghetto Knows", where G Rap narrates more street stories. "It's a Shame (Da Butcher's Mix)" features some darker production then the original while the album's closer "Money On My Brain" has G Rap teaming up with B1 & MF Grimm for another collaboration. Another reviewer mentioned Kool G Rap getting outshined by some of his guests, I disagree with that opinion, Nas & Kool G Rap both shine, while B1 & MF Grimm can't touch G Rap but hold their own. Production on this release is solid from start to finish, one definite highlight being Buckwild's contributions. Twenty-four years in the Rap Game Kool G Rap continues to be active, fans can be on the lookout for his upcoming album currently titled "Half a Klip" which will feature production from DJ Premier. Kool G Rap shines throughout this short quality release , "4,5,6" is an excellent album which I recommend adding to the collection. 4.5.
