Trans Europa Express Auf Deutsch

"I work at a music store, so when I explain to someone that a cd is from Germany & that's why it's more expensive, they usually assume the lyrics are all in German as well. In this case it's true (as the description says). "The Hall of Mirrors" was originally "Spiegelsaal" & so on. If you need to collect everything by Kraftwerk then this is mandatory (especially since it has a different cover) but this is one of their wordier albums & songs like "Mirrors" (my favorite), "Europe Endless", & "Showroom Dummies" need to be understood. While the title song is lengthy (technically it's split into three parts, but with no break in between) T.E.E. is the group's best attempt at a more commercial album, with shorter songs & a more light hearted tone. For this reason it's probably the best place to start if you want to avoid avante garde noise & sound effects like geiger counters. You would want to get the cheaper, English language version though."

"You know, if you listen to dance or electronic music, if you're interested in classics of modern music trends, if you think you're a clever and interesting person with a good taste for things, just listen to it. Kraftwerk always produced meaningful music and TEE is not the exclusion. I mean, your positive reaction is guaranteed."

"This is the German version of the classic album. The theme of this enchanting work is travel, giving the impression of a train ride with constantly changing scenery. The music is similar to their classic track Autobahn, with the same hypnotic qualities but with a wider symphonic scope. The vast melodic sweep provides its most gripping moments in songs like Europa Endlos and the title track, whilst the most explorative instrumental passages occur on a track like Spiegelsaal (Hall Of Mirrors). As to be expected, Metall Auf Metall has a metallic ring, being Kraftwerk's pioneering excursion into industrial, whilst Abzug is a metallic reprise of Trans Europa Express. Franz Schubert is a beautiful melodious instrumental and this magnificent album concludes with Endlos Endlos, a final reprise of the title track. This is electronic music at its very best, a feast for the ears. Almost as great as their masterpiece Radioactivity!"
