CD Reviews
4.5 The ultimate 'reissue'

"I tend to stay away from reissues. i see them, for the most part, as record companies trying to get the loyal fans to buy the same product twice. Road Runner records are know for that, and it frustrates me to be penalized for buying the product early.
Now that i got that out of the way, that is NOT the case with this product. I have owned the original for quite a while and agree with the reviews on this site so i never wrote one for the original. The cd itself in its original form is probably the best Kreator cd since 'Coma of Souls'. Unless you are one who was really into the bands experimental stage in the mid 90's. After a 25+ year career, it is hard to believe that these 40 something german headbangers can still produce such manic ecstacy, but they have. And have come full circle in their career. That is a lot to be proud of these days.
What i will commend the band and label for doing here is giving a full 2 hour plus DVD in this version. The performance at Wacken, i am sure, could have been put on DVD format and sold seperately to get more money from the die hards. Instead what they have done is reissued that performance along with some videos and 'behind the scenes' of the making of the video of the title track. It is really cool except for the fact that you have to read the subtitles because they speak in german.
I firmly believe that both the band and label re-issued this release because they wanted people to really give this cd a try. It is well worth the money and for those who may have given up on the band (why i dont know)or for the fans who just want to try it out,Its a steal for the quality of the product. A must have and even worth it if you already OWN the original. The DVD itself is worth the $20. a must own!"

Kreator Eliminates Again!!!

"When it comes to the Thrash Metal genre there are few bands that can stand up to the titan that is Germany's Kreator. In 2005, the group released "Enemy Of God", a powerful and intense recording that showed the Metal world that Kreator had not gone away and was still capable of delivering the goods. It was also an album that showcased that the band could, and would be able to grow and mature in a world of ever-changing musical tides and as a result be influenced by some of the climate that was happening around them. The influences would not deter them from their course of Metal destruction, but in turn would blend fluidly and give the listener a new way to appreciate their favorite band. The elements that one can hear are traces of Arch Enemy but don't worry, you will not find any rapping over the riffs here like so many bands who changed their sound ended up doing. The Masters of the Thrash aspect with limited peer proved that "Enemy Of God" would please the listener by using the tried and true formula and also elements of the Melodic Death being showcased in so many of today's powerful bands.
SPV Records has re-visited this monster recording with "Enemy Of god - Revisited", and not only do you get the original recording but you get bonus tracks and a DVD that is loaded with music and video to enjoy. If there is any reason that you missed buying this album the first time around, well your chance and reason to fix this have increased. A full concert film alone makes it worth the price tag. If you Thrash until you bleed, then you need this release in your collection.
DVD Features: Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany (2005): Intro, Enemy Of God, Impossible Brutality, Pleasure To Kill, Phobia, Violent Revolution, Suicide Terrorist, Extreme Aggression, People Of The Lie, Voice Of The Dead, Terrible Certainty, Betrayer, Flag Of Hate, Tormenter. More live tracks recorded at Rockpalast Bootleg 2006 German TV Show (Renewal, Reconquering The Throne, Servant In Heaven - King In Hell). Videos: Enemy Of God, Making Of Enemy Of God, Dystopia, Impossible Brutality, Dying Race Apocalypse. Propaganda for Enemy Of God.
*** Those who have seen Kreator in concert over the years know full-well that this is one of the best ways to enjoy this band. Seeing them perform in front of the Wacken crowd is amazing, for they truly control the audience in this one - the bodies are flying everywhere.

One of the most talked about thrash metal bands return with

"Anywhere I go on the internet, there's a lot of talk about Kreator. I had never heard of them before until the live video for Phobia was on Headbanger's Ball a few years ago, loved the song. Still knew nothing about the band whatsoever. Enter Enemy Of God: simply awesome. Now, after a huge facelift, you get the album as is with two bonus live tracks. What really makes it worth the price is the bonus dvd. There's a lot of rereleases out there with bonus dvds that are good, but mostly are quite lacking. You expect more. The dvd you get here is chockfull of goodies. A full live performance from the famous Wacken Open Air festival, music videos, making of the Enemy Of God video, and more.
When an album gets reissued, you always expect it to be more than the original and make you want to buy it. This is that album."
