BHANGRA REMIX features a collection of Spirit Voyage's most beloved artists, as remixed with the skill and virtuosity of DJ Krishan. A Washington D.C. native, Krishan found inspiration during his extensive travels and time living in India, leading him toward a path that melds Eastern spirituality with American club culture. BHANGRA REMIX features both of those qualities in spades. The album includes songs from Snatam Kaur, Jai-Jagdeesh, GuruGanesha Singh, Mirabai Ceiba, Nirinjan Kaur and Gurunam Singh, pulled from each of the artist's recent albums. In the hands of Krishan, these warm chants are given a more upbeat bhangra-style spin, where electronic beats, ambient synths and keyboard effects join with Indian instrumentation. This hybrid makes the songs feel trendy and energetic, while still maintain the vocals and spirit of the original songs.
