Synopsis
Product Description LIMITED EDITION CD/DVD version of Tiger Suit featuring the film, "How To Make A Tiger Suit". Synopsis: "How To Make A Tiger Suit" is a record of a record. An honest and revealing film about KT Tunstall's journey, both geographic and personal - to create her third album. From Scotland to London; California to Berlin - director Rupert Style follows KT as she explores this exciting new terrain. Musical borders are crossed too - in KT's own words "Leftfield via Eddie Cochran". The end result is a humorous and entertaining film - that mixes exclusive live performance, intimate studio footage and beautiful animation. We learn the origins of 'Tiger Suit' and its collaborators, witness some challenging footwear choices and even take in a short film about cowboys along the way. "How To Make A Tiger Suit" is essentially a fly on the wall look at one of the greatest female artists of a generation and a rare insight into the world she inhabits. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsSynth Etiquette Jeff Loudon | Nashville, TN | 10/11/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) "Recorded in Berlin's Hansa Studios, it's easy to drool at the potential for this record before even hearing the first note. After all, U2's Achtung Baby and David Bowie's Heroes both took shape in the same space. After breaking into the mainstream with "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and "Suddenly I See," it was clear Tunstall had a knack for writing a memorable song. Now, four years after her debut and three years since her last release, KT Tunstall has returned with her most impressive album yet. Opening with "Uummannaq Song," Tunstall quickly, yet quietly shows off her new love of synthesizers. Complete with a shout out background response to the chorus, "Uummannaq Song" will undoubtedly become a live performance favorite. The following song, "Glamour Puss," does a great deal more to further Tunstall's sound. A dance beat complete with additional synths and another part for future crowds, this time in whistle form, spell out another hit for the Scottish singer/songwriter. The hits keep coming with "Push That Knot Away," another upbeat, catchy song that has already become a single. The one disappointing moment on Tiger Suit comes on the track "Come on, Get In" when she blatantly recycles the same rhythm from "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree." Although "Come on, Get In" is admittedly a better song, KT Tunstall's Nickelback moment is the one weak spot on an otherwise ambitious and enjoyable project. It's clear KT Tunstall experimented a lot with her sound and her songwriting abilities in the creation of this album. After releasing two albums in quick succession, Tunstall took her time with this release and it is truly something special. Fans of her previous material will be blown away by Tiger Suit, but as someone who really wasn't impressed with her past efforts, I recommend everyone at least give Tiger Suit one play through. Julia | East Coast | 10/10/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) ""Tiger Suit" is KT Tunstall's third studio album. Now, I can't say I am a huge fan- though I have heard previous albums. But this one really impressed me. All 11 tracks were a pleasant surprise. Anyone who enjoyed her previous two albums will dive right into this "Tiger Suit." This album only proves that KT is a vivid artist- not caring that her melodies aren't radio-friendly. Don't get me wrong, they're cozy and smooth... they make you want to sing along. I have to say, I was a little nervous about listening to this CD because I read that she had a "new sound" and I was partial to her other music... but it did not disappoint me. There are songs with emotional intensity, quirky ballads, catchy choruses and every song has its own unique touch. I have to say something about the case itself too. The artwork is fun and creative. The CD itself is black with a rainbow tiger face on it and there is more imaginative work (and lyrics) in the booklet. I love it! (So, buy the physical CD, not just the digital download!) I really enjoyed this CD. Definitely won't be one I play over and over, but I'm keeping it for when I'm in the mood... perfect music for a bubble bath or just relaxing." Probably My Favorite From KT A. Pack | 10/10/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I have been a fan of KT Tunstall ever since I heard Black Horse and the Cherry Tree for the first time. It's been a pleasure ever since, so I was eagerly anticipating this new album from her. I was very interested to see what she would offer in this new album, since she has been steadily evolving into a better and better artist. I was not disappointed at all in Tiger Suit from the very first notes of Uummannaq Song. She is an incredible artist, very talented. If you liked her previous albums/songs I think this will impress you even more with her skills. I honestly cannot get enough of this album. I keep finding myself hitting repeat. There is not a low point on this album for me. Some tracks I'm enjoying now are Uummannaq, Glamour Puss, Push That Knot Away, Fade Like a Shadow... Give it a listen I don't think you will be disappointed."
